In the Community

Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital is committed to developing a strong relationship with the people who live in our neighbourhood and throughout Guelph.

Drop by to see one of local photographer KC Hornsby's pieces in our reception area. His colourful photo of Guelph's downtown area is a cheerful reminder that summer isn't really that far away at all!

GLVH is committed to corporate sponsorship for the 4th Annual #SecretSantaGuelph project in support of Brant Avenue Public School via the Children's Foundation Food & Friends program. A Twitter-based event, the participants all gather in downtown Guelph for the grand finale and gift exchange. GLVH is active on Twitter at @guelphlakevet - join us there for lots of Guelph area news and pet tidbits! 2015 is our 3rd year supporting Secret Santa Guelph's work.

In February 2017, we were pleased to host the east Guelph sparks group one evening.  We hope you  learned a lot and great to see that some of you were already clients here.

In the Fall of 2015, we hosted 2 different 4-H groups for a tour of the clinic and question-and-answer sessions with Dr. Gardiner. If your group would like to participate in a tour (Brownies, Girl Guides, Cubs, Scouts, 4-H or other!), we are happy to work within the requirements of your badges or your clubs to provide an interactive and fun experience for the kids. Just send us an email!

We are also pleased to be a satellite adoption centre for the Guelph Humane Society. We regularly host cats and kittens that are available for adoption. Come by for a visit or check out our blog for more information on our latest foster cat! In May &June 2014 we also sponsored the Furry Fridays Guelph Humane Society segment on Magic 106.1 and CJOY 1460 radio.

GLVH was happy to attend a community night hosted by the Grange Hill East Neighbourhood Group in March 2014. It was nice to meet some residents of the neighbourhood and to hear about some of the issues that are important to east end communities. We look forward to being involved in future events as well!

We have also been a proud sponsor of the Guelph Soccer summer house league. It was fun watching the teams play at Eastview Sports Park, just across from our location on Watson Pkwy N.

Watch for our practice to work with other local groups in the months to come, and as we learn which organizations and events are most important to you and the greater community.
