Bell is ready for adoption!

GLVH

Belle.jpg

The staff at Guelph Lake Vet are enjoying having little Bell in the clinic for the last week - she is the friendliest, cuddliest little kitten!

A sister to the two kittens we had in a couple of weeks ago, Bell is a sweetheart who loves to be around people. She is spayed and has had her first shots and is ready to go to a loving home.

If you or someone you know would like to meet her, drop by anytime during our office hours for a visit!

Call (519) 824-9898 for more information, or come by 322 Eastview Road to meet Belle.

As always, there are lots of dogs and cats available for adoption at the Guelph Humane Society - you can find out more about them on the GHS adoption gallery page.

Guelph Lake Vet gets "snapd"!

GLVH

Thanks to Snap Guelph for joining us at our Grand Opening in December! We're happy to have been "snapd" and to be featured in the January 2014 edition of the paper.

Pick up a copy in many locations across Guelph throughout the month, or you can read our little write-up online at Snap.

We're also happy to report that all of the cats and kittens who were at our Grand Opening, courtesy of the Guelph Humane Society, have been adopted during the last month and have found loving homes!

Our first kittens have arrived!

GLVH

Guelph Lake Vet is happy to start our partnership with the Guelph Humane Society as a satellite adoption location. We've got a brand-new multi level cat condo in our hospital which will be home to kittens and cats looking for their forever families. The current residents are these adorable little two month old black kittens. They even have black whiskers and black paw pads!

These sweeties have already been claimed by a family who visited them on Sunday, and we don't blame them one bit for falling in love with both of them! Snow and Charm are tightly bonded and follow each other around, so we're happy that they will be going to the same home once all of the Humane Society interview and approvals process is completed.

Until then, we'll be cuddling them and making sure they are spayed, neutered and have their first round of shots.

Guelph Lake Vet thanks community for Grand Opening success

GLVH

The ownership and staff of Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital would like to thank everyone who joined us at our Grand Opening celebration on Sunday, December 8th.

We were so thrilled to see so many familiar faces come through the door – family, friends and supporters, as well as some new clients and neighbours! GLVH's first-ever pet patient, Lily the sheltie, visited with her owners and Dr. Mel was in charge of examining stuffed animal pets that joined us with their young owners.

We were pleased to meet representatives from the City of Guelph including Ian Findlay (our Ward 2 representative) who was our first visitor of the day and Cam Guthrie who, despite being a Ward 4 councillor, made the trek allllll the way over to our side of the city!

Thank you to Caroline and Gwen from the Guelph Humane Society for bringing so many adorable cats for adoption. Our bank of kennels in the treatment area of the hospital was full of rambunctious kittens and had a crowd around it all afternoon. The very friendly Harvey, a big fluffy black cat, was adopted and several other families were interested in learning more about the process for adoption. Stay tuned for more details on our continuing relationship with the Humane Society!

We were happy to have a collection of door prizes provided by our vendors and associates, and one lucky little girl even won an iPod Shuffle! We were also pleased to provide refreshments to our guests, featuring local businesses including Planet Bean coffee, a delicious cheese assortment from Chartelli’s on Grange Rd, and adorable (and delicious!) cupcakes from Sweet Temptations.

We are so happy to be part of this community on the east end of Guelph, and we look forward to meeting more of our neighbours and business leaders in the months to come. If you weren't able to come to the Grand Opening, we welcome you to drop in and say hello!

Grand Opening invitation - Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital

GLVH

Dr. Gardiner and the staff of GLVH (on the corner of Eastview and Watson Pkwy) would like to invite friends, neighbours, family members and curious Guelphites to stop by our Grand Opening Open House event on Sunday December 8th, 2013 from 12 pm - 4pm

We are excited to be hosting a Guelph Humane Society adoption event during our open house - a great opportunity to welcome a new pet to your home and to take advantage of some Grand Opening deals! Adopt a pet at our Grand Opening, and GLVH will also include a $25 gift card to our hospital, which can be used for your next appointment, food or retail purchase.

Kids, bring your favourite stuffed animal for a chance to be examined by a veterinarian, and also have an X-ray with our new digital X-ray machine! There will also be a ribbon cutting, refreshments and door prizes.

Guelph Lake Vet sponsors #SecretSantaGuelph

GLVH

Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital is pleased to be a corporate sponsor of the 3rd Annual #SecretSantaGuelph project. Led by Bang Ly, the project is a fundraiser for Guelph's Brant Avenue Public School and the Children's Foundation Food & Friends Program. The goal is to raise enough money in Zehrs gift cards to extend the Food & Friends Program at Brant Ave to a full 5-day a week program through until the end of June. Currently they only have enough funds for 3 days a week until May.

Dr. Scott and the staff of Guelph Lake Vet believe in giving back to their community and are happy to be able to be a part of this program for a nearby school. To follow along with the progress of the #SecretSantaGuelph project, you can follow GLVH on Twitter @guelphlakevet, or search the #SecretSantaGuelph hashtag to check out the other participants. Registration is closed for this year's gift exchange at Atmosphere Cafe, but there's lots of fun still to be had watching hints and surprises from the Twitter participants!

Update as of Saturday, November 16th: Through donations to the #SecretSantaGuelph campaign so far, the project has already raised enough to meet the needs of the school for 4 days a week until June! Let's see if we can get to 5 days a week. Donations are being accepted now in the form of Zehrs gift cards - contact Bang Ly directly via their website!

Press Release - Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital now open

GLVH

EAST GUELPH NEIGHBOURHOOD GAINS NEW BUSINESS
Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital now open

Tuesday, November 12 2013 – GUELPH ONTARIO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

As of Monday, November 11 2013 the east end of Guelph has one more business open and ready to serve the residents of the area. Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital (GLVH) is a locally owned and community focused business in the new plaza at the corner of Eastview Road and Watson Parkway. Dr. Scott Gardiner, owner and lead veterinarian at the new facility, grew up in the Guelph area attending John F. Ross High School, the University of Guelph and later the Ontario Veterinary College.

“Driving along Watson Parkway last spring”, says Dr. Gardiner, “we recognized that there was a large residential population and few services. It made sense to us that a veterinary hospital nearby would be of benefit to this community. We are really looking forward to meeting the families and pets of east Guelph!”

A multi-veterinarian practice that is closely associated with well known Woodlawn Veterinary Hospital located in the city’s north end (Dr. Gardiner is the owner at both locations), GLVH is dedicated to a high level of customer service and personalized care for each pet. Wellness and treatment plans are tailored to the needs of each pet and the owner’s expectations.

“We believe that each pet is different and this means that we address each on a case by case basis,” says Dr. Gardiner. “What works for your neighbour’s pet, might not meet your expectations or be the right treatment plan for your pet. We work hard to ensure that our clients are satisfied and that their pets receive the best care possible.”

For more information on Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital’s practice philosophy, to see how they are getting involved in the community or to contact the hospital directly, please visit www.guelphlakevet.ca or call (519) 824-9898. You can also follow GLVH on Twitter @guelphlakevet.

Now open! Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital at Eastview and Watson Pkwy

GLVH

We are so pleased to announce that the brand new Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital is now open!

As of yesterday morning we are fully operational and are accepting appointments at our 322 Eastview Road location in Guelph. Our full-service veterinary hospital offers state of the art technology and skilled staff to serve the pets and owners of the area.

Now Open!.jpg

It’s an exciting day for the GLVH team, as it has been a long 6 months of planning and blueprints and sawdust. To see it all come together and to have such a warm, bright and welcoming space for our clients is really gratifying.

We welcome drop-in visitors who would like to meet our veterinarians, and hope to meet many of the residents of our new neighbourhood.

GLVH is closely affiliated with the well-known Woodlawn Veterinary Hospital in the north end of Guelph, and we strive to offer the same high level of customer service and personalized care that our team at WVH is known for.

We encourage you to browse our website, and if you are interested in requesting an appointment or would like further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
